Get Updates from the Campaign
Welcome to my Campaign's Website!
Thanks for taking the time to learn a little bit about me and why I am running for State Representative.
This campaign is about fixing Michigan- identifying our problems, developing solutions consistent with our shared values and bringing those solutions to reality as quickly and effectively as possible.
Our state is headed in the wrong direction. We’re in the midst of deep structural change, and we’re feeling the effects of globalization more than anywhere else in the country. We have to make profound changes in our institutions, our politics, our economy… our culture.
We must diversify and grow our economy, invest in education and transportation infrastructure, protect our environment, ensure that equal rights are afforded to all of our citizens, preserve our social safety net, and create a real urban policy. Our ability to create a prosperous future in Michigan depends on our willingness and ability to consistently invest in our quality of life. We cannot cut our way to prosperity.
How do we enact this vision? Well I’m running for State Representative, but I think we need more than representation. A good representative comes prepared, votes the right way, and defends his or her constituents. Representation is very reactive. But we need more than good representation. We need leadership. Leaders are proactive. Leaders see problems, work to identify solutions, get resources to address the problems, and execute the solutions.
Leadership is about vision, courage, and accomplishment. Representation is about showing up. Michigan needs more leaders!
I have a 15-year track record of getting things done in the private sector, the public sector, and the non-profit sector, and over the course of this campaign, I hope to show you that I’m the type of leader that Michigan needs in this difficult time.
I strive to be as accessible as possible, and I look forward to talking with you in person and hearing your thoughts, questions, and ideas. Please, come to one of our bi-weekly ‘Saturdays with Staebler’ coffee hours at Sweetwaters on Washington (click the “Events” tab for upcoming dates), or to contact me with questions or comments, click on the “Contact” tab and you’ll find my phone number and email.
Thanks again for stopping by. We’ll update the site regularly with blog posts, upcoming events, and pictures and news as the campaign progresses. So, check back periodically, or sign up to be kept in the loop by email.
